U is For UFO

In the craft world, we use UFO to mean Unfinished Object.

UFO's are all those projects sitting around the house that you were soooo excited to start, and then pooped out on halfway through. But someday I will finish them! That's why they haven't been torn apart to salvage the materials.

I looked around, and just within easy reach of me I have five unfinished projects. One was a birthday gift for my daughter. TWO years ago. Maybe I'll finish it up and give it to her this year. Boy, will she be surprised if I do.

Do you have any half-finished projects sitting around your house? Do you think you'll ever finish them?

LOL. I call them WIPs. (Works in Progress.) Unfortunately I abandoned all crafting ambition after my oldest was born, and jumped feet first into writing. The same principle holds true though. I've got at least 25 different "novels" waiting to be finished.

Some times are worse than others. Usually, when I feel overwhelmed, it's because I have my to-do list in my head instead of on paper.

OMG, do I EVER have UFOs around the house--literally totes and totes of them. And when I periodically go through them all (an activity I love), I can't bear to part with any of them. I'm slowly working through them. The oldest one is over 30 years old (I still have the receipt from the purchase on my 21st birthday)--a gorgeous backgammon board of hummingbirds and fushia blossoms. It WILL be done one day! Great post.

Great posts! I have more UFO's than I care to admit to

Isn't a UFO the same thing as a WIP? lol

It's so sad that I have so many UFOs laying around my house. I get an idea and quicker than you can say, "No wait, just a second here, missy, shouldn't you finish the project you've already got going?" I'm on to the next on. The problem is I get bored very easily with doing the same craft over and over - which is probably why I have learned so many!

I have a couple of UFOs and I still have no idea when I will even touch them again. They include an unfinished sweater I had started knitting two years ago, and a cross stitch project that is more than 4 years old and yet unfinished.
